Parea is located off the busy Oxford road. Only limited street parking is available unless you are willing to pay R30 to park in the parking lot available further up the road. We ordered a vegetarian platter to share between 3 people and it was affordable at R59 per person. The food was delicious but the presentation could be improved. The restaurant has a cozy feel but the decor could use some updating. Overall it was a great Saturday night out with the addition of the live dancing, breaking plates, and setting fires!
Parea is a no fuss type of Greek restaurant. While presentation isn’t a highlight, flavour certainly is.The grilled calamari and chicken liver meze dishes were delicious. The chicken & haloumi yiro is very filling – the chicken is not as tender as it should be, it tends to be dry/sometimes burnt. The chips were not cooked properly, I wouldn’t order it as a separate side again.Overall a good 3.5/5 experience, looking forward to trying more of the meze dishes.
