We booked Grei for my birthday and wow what an experience. Upon arrival at the Saxon we were greeted warmly, directed to where we should park and even chauffeured to the restaurant. The ambiance is indescribable, the efficiency and pure grace of the waiting staff was something I hadn’t seen before!! This dinner service was run like a tight ship and wow did it all come together perfectly. Chef Candice is so talented and her food takes you on a journey. The food was beyond amazing, the wine pairing was extraordinary. The look and feel of the restaurant is truly spectacular!! I would definitely recommend anyone who wants the fine dining experience go to Grei!! It will be one that you will never forget!!
Late review but rather late than never. Went there for my birthday in January. Was fasting so veg only. They have an awesome vegan menu and food was surprisingly bursting with flavor, unique tastes and presentation. I wouldn’t recommend the cheeses though, still find CT restaurants to serve the best cheese platters.
Beautiful setting and excellent service. I had the scallop starter which was disappointing – the flavours of the other items on the dish unfortunately over powered the scallops. My husband had the lobster started which was very good, however he expected more for the price. The main courses were excellent – the springbok and duck. We shared the apple dessert which was very good, however not worth R250. An excellent experience altogether.
