Taigel is a lovely place to grab a quick bite to eat or a nice cup of coffee! Max and Shel (the owners) always make you feel right at home. The food is consistently good (I love their breakfast!) and the service I receive is always top notch.Their prices are really affordable and in my opinion the food is great value for money.They are conveniently situated in Thrupps Centre in Illovo.

Taigel is a cute and quiet cafe tucked away in the corner of the Thrupps centre in Illovo. If you’re looking for a quieter place for lunch – this is a good place to try out. The food is good and very reasonably priced. I ordered the grilled steak strips, caramelized onions and hummus wrap and it was very good , with a generous amount of meat. Service is good too; Â a fly landed in my glass of coke and I had told the waiter he could take it away. He returned with another coke that was not charged for -a very nice gesture considering it was not the restaurant’s fault that a fly had landed there after it had been delivered to my table.
Most fabulous cheescake!!! Absolutely divine! It is everything you want in a cheesecake – rich, smooth and creamy! The only negative is that the shop lacks atmosphere. Maybe some good music?
A nice Kosher deli, good for breakfast and pastries. The service was attentive and the prices reasonable in comparison with Kosher food. You can also buy pre-made perogen etc. to serve at home.
