Very good value for money – the portions are big and the quality of chicken is good. I had the wrap with herby sauce. It was packed with well-cooked chicken and the sauce was delicious. My partner had a quarter chicken, which he enjoyed. The service was friendly but not very quick as they seemed to be training new chefs. However, I’m happy to wait for freshly cooked chicken. Good place for a hearty lunch – we had a takeout and I would rate it above the other usual takeout chicken places.Wasn’t madly impressed by the chips – although they were well-spiced, they did seem to have been sitting out for a while and so seemed stale. Otherwise, good takeout chicken at a reasonable (but not cheap) price.

Ordered a take away mushroom and cheese burger in hot. It looked like they used ONE sliced button mushroom and the last little bit of cheese that they had left, on that burger. Menu said burger comes with caramelized onion, looked like they were out of onions too. I always order any chicken in hot because I enjoy the bite, I think I’ve had salad dressing that had better bite. Burger was totally bland and tasteless. Will never go back here. You are new on the market, if you want to make an impact, you’re going to have to do much better than this.

I work just around the corner. Tried to order food so many time. But always a problem. So frustrating. Then the can’t hear me. And and and. Last week tried a gain to order via email. Worked the first few times. Then two days in a row just don’t deliver. The food is good the people are friendly and helpful but there is a gap in the Comunication. I want to support them. But it is difficult. Will try again this week. Let’s see

Went to check out The Rolling Rooster. They are a take-away/sit down restaurant, with food trucks or catering available too and they can take big families or parties into their venue. The space is quite big and brightly coloured. Although I don’t have kids, I can recommend them investing in a playground for kids and even a playroom for older kids (their menu caters for kids which is great). As you walk in you see their amazing selection of desserts – brownies, chocolate tarts and cakes – the works as their main chef has a passion for baking. They also sell their sauces at the store which is great.Their chicken is fresh and grilled and they serve their food on awesome wooden platters. Their salad options are rad – and they have great feta that you can add to salads (they also have avo, but it’s not on the menu – I would suggest adding avo, pineapple and bacon bits to their salad options).Their menu isn’t really massive, so we opted for a salad with extra feta & avo and a burger with extra cheese and pineapple and fries. Their coleslaw is apparently amazing, but they didn’t have any available. In the crazy heat I also ordered iced coffee, but their machine or something wasn’t working so we opted for illy coffee with cold milk and ice cubes (which I would never recommend ever as there was way too much milk in that drink). They do have smoothies and iced coffee shakes on the menu though. Since we came after the lunch time rush, there was no vibe and only some walk-in takeaway customers. It was hot inside and outside so we sat outside. I also feel they could clean their tables more after people left, as it was a bit messy after lunchtime. The food on the other hand was great, although my peri-peri chicken wasn’t hot at all. The herby chicken on the salad was great though and the salad looked better than any other salad I’ve seen in Johannesburg, basically.I would like to visit again and see if it’s better with more people around – since their food really is good, but the place definitely needs some ambiance and more attentive staff.
