Hidden away is Tonka Bean Bakery. They provide many treats to local restaurants and coffee shops. They also provide sales from their factory shop in Riversands Incubation Center. Their jaw dropping custard donuts are a complete delight! I also had a Nutella cruffin which enjoyed too. I only wish they could provide more products like cakes rather than small amounts of pastries.
We need a new rating scale beyond 5 for Tonka Bean Bakery. Went to @tonka bean bakery today. Quite a drive for us but soooo worth it. I’ve gone to doughnut heaven indeed. The custard filled doughnuts are delectable. Soft, delicate and moist. Just the right amount of sweetness. The custard has real vanilla bean which you can taste, not that artificial pretend stuff. The flourless chocolate cake was rich with the right balance of the bitter dark chocolate and sweetness. After two doughnuts I haven’t as yet made it to the brownie, lemon tart or the almond croissant. You need to call and confirm stock as you generally need to preorder. The owner Shakil is a genuinely lovely, humble guy. So good to support small businesses who are passionate about their product and customer and who don’t compromise on quality.
22.07.2017 Finally got my hands on some of these doughnuts thanks to Lazeezas. I ordered both the Custard and the Nutella Doughnuts along with 2 Cruffins ( Chocolate and something else)Delicious, light and fluffy. I can see why everyone loves them. Will definitely try some of their other pastries if I get a chance.
