First time visit to Buitengeluk with friends. We made a reservation, which was nowhere to be found, but we were eventually shown to a table. The tranquility of the establishment’s setting, sets your mind at ease. Our waiter, Kanal, assisted us from drinks to starters to mains and desserts. He was attentive and ensured that he was available to us. For starters we had the beef carpaccio and lamb phyllo. Both tasted good. Mains – Lamb shanks, chicken pasta, fillet and pie. All the dishes were good, except we had a bit of an issue with the lamb shanks. Although it was cooked perfectly, there was a piece of plastic inside the meat. I requested the manager to come to our table to explain the plastic. To our shock, she explained that they know about it (some weight plastic thing). Prepare the customer in advance when they order the lamb shank that they will get a piece of plastic in their meat (all three had it on the inside!). Desserts – creme brulee, hot chocolate cake, cheese cake and tiramisu. All good, hot chocolate cake was a bit on the dry side. All over good experience, will return in the near future.
