I honestly think the owners here reaxhed to far or it’s run by someone else. There is no comparison between fourways and the original.Fourways. Beer is warm, service shocking, food tasteless. Outside seating area is as hot as hell.Feels like the entire place is on a go slow. I served myself mostly.
Beautiful set up and decor. Service is great. Flavour in food dishes is awesome – unfortunately after 6 orders of tapas for 2 people – we walked out of there still hungry. Food portions on the tapa menus way too small relative to price – and we are small eaters. This is by comparison to its firm competiton in the asian fusion restaurant business. If the restaurant can adjust either prices or sizes on tapa food menus as this is the varietal food selling point – this place will become a regular go-to favourite.
Went to the new Saigon Suzy at Cedar Square after numerous enjoyable meals at the Parktown branch. Extremely disappointed with the quality of food. We ordered the crispy tofu small plate and chicken peanut satay for starters and the custom wok bowl for mains (to share). The tofu sauce was tasteless; the peanut satay, tiny and dry and the wok bowl, half the portion we’re used to and lacking in flavour. A whole lot of soy sauce and five spice later, we paid our R500,00 bill and left to get a pizza. We won’t be back. Up your game Saigon Suzy!
The staff here were very friendly and helpful. I was pleased to see some vegan options on the menu and picked the mushroom pancakes. They were oily but tasted good. It would have been nice to have more mushrooms and less of the plentiful spring onions.
I enjoyed the customised build your own stir fry and the dim sums. I don’t normally taste a lot of Asian fusion but they were okay. Obviously, it is quite a pricey experience and if you are living in a budget, I suggest you have this once a month and not every day. They do have karaoke which is an additional experience to spice up your evening.
