Dinner at Idwala Boutique Hotel was a gourmet 3 course-affair. All the dishes were creative and inspired, and Chef Paul ensured that we were happy. We had a tangy beetroot, butternut and goat’s cheese starter, and spicy prawns and kingklip almondine (a decadent kingklip sprinkled with roasted almonds) for the main course. Then it was time for dessert. My husband and I opted for the chocolate mousse, my daughter had a strawberry delight mousse and my son chose his favourite – malva pudding. He’s still talking about it a week later and he’s a very picky eater! The food was wholesome and well-presented. Read more about Idwala here.
This experience will leave me longing. Longing for the most amazing dinner we have had in a long time. The food, Moroccan inspired, had my tastebuds tingling for more. Best ambience and service we have had in Johannesburg. Thanks Paul for making our evening a night to remember. Xxx
This establishment is a really beautiful and special place. My partner and I went there on a Sunday evening unannounced and we were still given the most amazing service. Dinner next to the fire and with an ambience of warmth and caring created by all the staff.Even more surprising is the quality of the food. The menu is limited to two options per course but everything on it deserves to be there. It’s also value for money at R260 pp for a three course menu.Would highly recommend this hidden away gem.
