Attended a function at the Art Farm coffee shop today. The setting is quite nice with a great atmosphere, but sadly the service was disappointing with rude staff giving you attitude when you ask for service . Beside the bad service, the food is quite average.
They have great wholesome food at really good prices. They playground is a real hit with my kids, there is also an option for them to be taken by a caregiver to go feed the animals. We take the opportunity to walk around the farmers market on a Saturday. The service at the coffee shop can be slow at times.
I visited The Art Farm in April 2016 and visited the coffee shop for coffee. While service was so-so (normal for SA is seems) the coffee and waffle were really good. In fact the waffle appeared to have been freshly mixed and was perfectly crispy, one of the best I’ve had.The Art Farm is not on a normal route and getting there is a bit tedious so one must really want to go there to make the effort. Fast forward to this past Sunday where I decided to once again try the coffee shop. What a massive disappointment!Firstly they were much busier than last time but as they had an event on that would be expected. The whole experience from trying to get a table and attempting to get the table cleaned was just pure frustration. Once again we ordered the waffle and promptly waited 25 minutes for it to arrive. What arrived was not in any way comparable to the first waffle we had had. It clearly had been hauled out of a deep freeze and been microwaved, had the consistency of chewing gum and was tasteless. To make matters worse the second cappuccino I ordered must have been the 2nd or 3rd filtering through the same coffee grinds as it had the taste of coffee grease not fresh coffee, and tasted very different from the first cup I was given. This really is a poor show and will not see me back. Perhaps if you have kids and need space for them to run around this is your place. For any discerning coffee drinkers looking for a pleasant afternoon coffee and cake, go elsewhere.PS – I have not even mentioned the waitress we had who quite simply should be doing something else with her life, jobwise.
This new little coffee shop is awesome! The food was great, but the service amazing! Very attentive, warm and friendly staff, from the service staff to the managers. Keep it up, and we see big things to come for your future.
