This place many years ago was home best pies,unfortunately these days the pies are not same and not stars of show ..pity.The accompaniment of chakalaka and salad were tasty.Pie was bland .Coffee was quite strong but very good.
Stopped here for lunch today, when we arrived the person attending just said sit anywhere and walked away. All tables were full, anyway someone else seated us. The food took ages to come and my half chicken & chips was cold and dry. I sent it back and 3 minutes later got the same half chicken back drenched in hot BBQ sauce. I then gave up sent it away and had nothing instead. The owner was wondering around but didn’t bother to come over or sort anything out. It’s not the first time we have had terrible service there but it will be the last. Don’t waste your money on the place.
Pies have always been my favorite kinda food. So good yet so bad. My husband took me to the home of the chicken pie, we always drove passed it on the way to Harties so we decided to stop there one day on our way back from Magaliesburg. What a treat. Absolutely loved their pies. We tried the chicken and jalapeño and chicken curry. Served with chips or salad and a relish. You can even take some home, easy to bake and the pastry is just perfect. They have a cute little deli with other goodies besides pies as well like milk tart and other freshly baked goods. Would definitely recommend to pie lovers.
