We stayed at Kloofzicht for our anniversary and had dinner in the main dining room. There was a choice of the buffet or a set menu designed by the chef. The set menu did not have a vegetarian option and as it was a special occasion we didn’t want to eat from the buffet. However the chef prepared a full 5 course vegetarian tasting menu just for me which was absolutely delicious, definitely worth a 5-star rating.
In December last year, a good friend of mine got married at Kloofzicht Lodge and Spa. The bride, my close friend, is a fellow foodie herself with great taste. The hotel and venue itself I remembered being beautiful from my sister in law’s wedding a few years ago. In December, I was also aware at the time that Chris Tustian had recently been appointed the new Executive Chef (and I’d heard great things about him and his food). Suffice to say I took this as a sign and decided to make a weekend of the wedding and book accommodation at Kloofzicht.

Had our end of year lunch here. The place is absolutely beautiful! The service, however, was slow. Our waiters stood in the corner having long conversations where we had to interrupt and say “sorry, but can we please place an order for drinks”. The food was good. The beef a bit dry, but all round good.
Went to Kloofzitcht for the weekend with my boyfriend and the service from reception up until dinner was amazing. Our waiter was so attentive and polite. The food was as great as it looked. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a weekend away from the hustle and bustle of Johannesburg
