Lovely ambience, excellent service calm and serene surroundings lovely place to spend a Sunday afternoon having lunch with the sound of Hennops River gently flowing past, a nice get away from the city.
Hosted a function at short notice at Riverplace, no stress, mess or fuss. Great service and food. Lovely venue with great views of the river. Jane and Ken are fantastic hosts. Highly recommend.
What a lovely escape from the city, only 20 minutes outside of Johannesburg lies this gem of a restaurant next to the river. The food was excellent and great value for money. We had the duck for starters (best duck I’ve ever had). For mains we had the pork belly (the apple chutney made this dish!) and the blue cheese gnocchi pasta (always a winner if its fresh like this). The creme brûlée was the perfect consistency. All these dishes were really 5 star quality. And if you want to enjoy a few glasses of wine, you can sleep over in their luxury accommodation units.
I had a great time at this restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing. The restaurant is along the river. I think it’s the Hennops river. It’s a beautiful environment, I would recommend booking a canopy. It’s incredibly romantic (if that’s what you’re looking for).The food was great. The portions are large and flavorful. It’s not fine dining but it tastes amazing and it is of excellent quality. My mother and I ordered the Tilapia which was perfect. My sister ordered the steak and my father the pork belly which they both thoroughly enjoyed. We had great service from our waitress Moira.
