Situated in the older region of the capital, Cafe Barcelona is a very simplistic yet, popular hang-out to the residents of Colbyn, Hatfield and even further away.  Entering the restaurant you surely aren’t wow-ed by decor or the perfect ambience, but looking at their line-up of live entertainment you know why this is such a popular spot.  Decor is a bit drab and below par when it comes to sophistication, but their service is exceptional and their food was hearty, tasty and enjoyable.  They make divine pizzas and prepare them from scratch.  I enjoyed a lovely Portuguese Trinchado with fries, Cheese and Herb Foccacia and off course a lovely red wine.  Prices are reasonable and can I just reiterate their selection of live entertainment! Love it.  Points scored:  Food and service.  Points deducted:  Ambience and setting.  Also the restaurant feels cluttered.

We visited this café on a cold Friday evening for their pizza. The staff were all very friendly and the atmosphere was very relaxed. The pizza we ordered was the Chicken and it tasted great. Not necessarily gourmet but definitely worth having. It was light and healthy. The only issue was that the doors were all open and it was freezing outside. Some didn’t seem to mind though. I’m definitely going back.

At night this coffee shop turns into a live music venue. Very precious in Pretoria. Great to keep alive. Friendly staff and great atmosphere.
