Beware the bland platters! I like the Yamakado chain, their prices are good and the sushi is fresh. I usually prefer to ubereats from my nearest Yamakado, but visited this branch 4/8/2018. The restaurant decor is that of a middle-of-the-road sushi restaurant, with plastic chairs and tables and some cheapish knick-knacks. Not that great.I had the salmon fashion sandwiches (way too big for a bite), tuna rainbow rolls, salmon roses, and the yummy rolls (fantastic special). In the end, my bill was similar to the sushi buffet (which is R158). A friend had the California platter – it looked very bland, and he ended up ordering another meal after finding it unappetizing. I had read somewhere that no BYO wine was allowed, but it turns out they charge a corkage of R40.The service was friendly, but inattentive considering we were some of very few patrons that night. I would have preferred more frequent check-ins.

we have 3 Yamakado restaurants near us.we just popped in to this one!glad to say the Sushi was amazing as all ways. we took the buffet option at R158 pre person it’s good value for money. staff are friendly and we will pop back soon.
