Working in the Pretoria CBD one’s options for a good lunch are on the limited side.  Urban Eatery surely gives a fresh perspective on one’s lunch break without breaking the bank.  They are situated on the corner of Madiba and Thabo Sehume Streets, nestled in between buildings.  Their menu offer anything from delicious take aways and options for the healthy eater among us.  Their coffee is amazing and they do have freshly baked treats on display.  Offering seating outside and inside makes winter a bit friendlier.  Service is swift, efficient and friendly.  O! Did I mention that they do deliver on request?

Just a food orgasm .. Their ham and cheese sandwich is just fabulous.Although the savoury mince could do with a bit more flavour, I fully enjoyed my takeaway.

Urban Eatery is a much needed escape in Pretoria’s CBD. Their breakfast special is a winner at 7am along with a great cup of coffee to wash it down. My second time here and it’s consistently good.

Urban Eatery is the passion project of a familiar face in Pretoria, previously manager at a diffrent cafe she now runs/owns the best breakfast and lunch spot in the CBD. They conveniently open at 6:30 so I can get my coffee fix before starting work and the friendly service has become a given. During lunch it gets busy so be patient and wait it out or grab one of their ready made pies, sandwiches or the quiche of the day. For lunch I’d recommend the chicken strips and chips or the Chicken wrap. The owner is involved and I never leave without being asked my opinion or to taste one of her newest recipes. I have high hopes for this cafe and mark my words, expect to see the owner doing great things in Pretoria.
