The food was pretty decent as usual, I’ve been here many times. However, the staff really want you out on the dot of 10pm and instead of just saying so, they cleared dishes before we were finished. Gave me the bill before others had finished eating. Making the meal a horrible experience and when I didn’t tip the waitress complained. Even after I explained why. The whole thing should have been handled differently. Never again.

Village Bistro was the destination for lunch today. Smallish restaurant in Irene and very secluded. Sat in the “garden” area and it was very quiet today. So had the garden all to ourselves. Ordered drinks and a pizza (Bellissima – bacon, avo, feta and garlic) to share. The base was baked to the perfection and great tasting pizza. Good overall experience
Racist owner Had the unfortunate experience of dining at the restaurant My 6 year old was mixing the salt and pepper in a side plate He was rudely told by the waiter that he was not allowed to do that The owner then arrived and said that we were not welcome in her restaurant She insulted us and as being Indian were compared to the non Indian guests She threatened to kick us out and call for security My child is traumatized by this incident Please don’t support this racist restaurant
