There’s nothing better than a ‘farm breakfast’ to start you day. We decided to try a new place, situated inside Framers Bill Butchery-their ‘Plaas Kombuis” Restaurant. It’s a small set-up but very inviting. We were immediately welcomed, seated and asked for our drinks. They have a nice help yourself bar with coffee and fresh juices. Everything you see and eat is available in their store, from fresh juices to tomato and eggs. The service is quick and friendly.I loved the way they incorporate their brand sauces on their table, it’s nice in the way you can taste everything and it’s available to buy in store. The breakfast was impressive, for R19.00. Two eggs, fresh farm bread on the side, lekker chippies and loads of bacon. What a bargain! After enjoying our breakfast we definitely had to stop outside for some freshly baked pannekoek.
We gave the Plaas Kombuis a try after seeing their breakfast special. They were extremely busy and very understaffed, the restaurant section is very small and just cant accommodate everyone coming for the breakfast special. We waited over 1 hr 45 min for our food, luckily it was a family breakfast so we kept ourselves busy chatting. The coffee self service bar is a nice concept, the waitress should however have explained how it worked and not just left us to figure it out on our own as it was our first time here, they should also check that it is always stocked as we had to ask for a couple of items that had run out. We were brought the wrong food twice and a few other mishaps, however when the breakfast was finally served, the food was very nice and very fresh. The restaurant section is very quaint and has a nice rustic farm feel to it, it is also attached to the onsite butchery.
