Diep in die Berg is a beautiful, classy wedding venue, but our recent visit there has proven opposite for their restaurant, they offer birthday party or large group hosting which on the one hand is awesome,but for those searching a fine dining place, this is not for you. The restaurant does not uphold the class of this venue that I remember.I say this because when we went there the place was very loud like a bar, no music in the back ground, just very noisy.The food tastes great but to me it’s over priced. The Pina Colada cocktail I had was one of the best tasting I’ve had. This place has the potential to create a fine dining atmosphere, but mayb that is not their aim, I’m not sure.

What a disappointment, we’ve been a few times, food mediocre, but with live music some nights hasn’t been bad . We were hoping with the new chef that the menu would have improved, i always have the gnocchi with oxtail ragu, last night’s was the worst I’ve had, The restaurant was very empty for a Sat night, maybe 4 tables , service was extremely slow , we had to get up and call the waiter. Like I said, we’ve been before & it was ok, last night was very poor. Bad management, our friend ordered a beer at 10pm, and was told, sorry they’ve already cashed up. Very disappointing, won’t be back until service ,& quality of food improves. Such a pity , the gardens & venue are lovely, the place should be pumping on a Sat night. Bad Management, bad service, poor food.
What a nice location for breakfast, it almost feels like you are far out of the city in the bush.We went for breakfast recently as we were looking for somewhere other than the obligatory mall restaurants and we were quite impressed.The venue is clean and looks modern but still welcoming.The menu had a good selection of breakfast items with meat lovers and vegetarian options. I chose their steak egg and chips and when it arrived I was quite pleased with the portion and the sauce was delicious, unfortunately the steak itself was a bit tuff..almost if it was more steamed than fried. My partner enjoyed everything about his veggie omlette.Our server was not the fastest but I appreciated that they don’t keep interrupting your meal. The chef I believe also came by the table, not something you see much these days.The one annoyance however is that we were there a bit early and they were still moving tables and benches around us but this can be avoided if you get there maybe 30min later.All in all a good morning out.
