Although the urban cafe scene is not a new concept to South Africans - we wanted to bring a little more to the table by combining the modern twist of cafes with the nostalgic 'tuisnywerheid' we all grew up with. Our aim was to be the little bakery on the corner where you run to when you have guests coming and you want to serve them something special or your mother-in-law is coming to town and you want to impress her with the cake 'you baked yourself' (your secret is safe with us). Sweet Jo's has it all - put down the recipe books and stop looking for what you could've sworn was baking soda in your cupboards. We got this!
