We had lunch at Maison de Leo this afternoon. The restaurant has a lovely atmosphere. The menu is limited, but interesting – not the standard tramazini’s etc. The food was delicious , though quite pricey for the portion sizes. The reason for my score is that a 12% service charge is automatically added to the bill (party of 2). The amount was also rounded up and not down. As a customer who always leaves a tip of at least 10%, I don’t appreciate having the tip forced on me and not left to my discretion. Just felt a little bit ripped off

Maison de Leo is a new restaurant situated in Rietondale, Pretoria and easily accessible from Hatfield and the CBD. It boasts a whimsical feel and the decor is beautifully decorated. The head chef is renown for his cullinery delights and is sure to amaze you with their offerings for the day. They are priced a tad high, but sure gives you and experience that will not fail to deliver on your expectations. Make sure to sit outside when weather permits.
I really enjoyed eating here the atmosphere is great and the service swift and attentive. Open for breakfast snacks and lunch, i can see this as a great summer location. Perfect for business breakfasts, or meeting up with the girls (or boys) for a catch-up. Menu is seasonal, and Willie always make sure there is something new and exciting available.
