Went to the Umhlanga Rocks drive one to get a paneer curry last night. Rather disappointing meal. The curry was like tomato relish with spice. Not curry consistency at all. The paneer chunks were squeeky and flavorless. The roti was good but really disappointing curry with very little flavor
Clearly a popular spot with the locals. A call in takeaway favorite as their phone did not stop ringing with a constant flow of collections too. Over the last 3 years I always pop in for a Bunny Chow and what used to be a hit and miss chicken or mutton curry, has become more of a hit. Introducing the boneless offerings is a winner. Value for money, but nothing fancy, you can’t go wrong with a Bunny Chow and an ice cold Coke Cola. All fillings are delicious. They are not licensed, washroom on site with amble parking but is on a busy road.
While everyone complains, I can certainly say something positive. Funny how complaints are discussed in this forum. I think it is absolutely inappropriate, the best is to call the owner and sort it out. I’ve always got excellent service and excellent food at the Broadway / Swapo street branch. We regularly buy takeaways in the said branch and there are always many clients so it probably would not be so bad.
