It was the perfect end to our weekend in Hoedspruit. We had a delicious breakfast with a lovely warm fire going. Our coffee was delicious and the hot chocolate was perfect. The meals consumed were French Toast. Homemade beef burger. Eggs Florentine on potato hash and we took home a delicious freshly made milk tart from the bakery. Our waiter was attentive and efficient (especially having two young kids) it was the perfect enticement to spend a weekend in Dullstroom.
Told staff that we were in a bit of a rush and they did their best to accommodate us. Very polite and good service throughout. Food was tasty – very simple food but hit the spot!
Just Ok. Love homemade buns. Chicken breast soft. Teeny bit of caramelized onions which didnt do much for burger. Bit bland. Chips pale and squashed. Most of all R56 for a pot of water with 2 teabags and 1 jug milk.Beerglass of warm gingerbeer. R38. Quite awful didnt taste of ginger at all more apple juice and lemon.Cheese on cheeseburger R17 extra.Waiter wasnt great and complained about R27 tip. Didnt deserve more though.
The signature house speciality trout dish prepared by Jimmy the chef and served impeccably by Jan, our waiter, was awesome. Like a good book I did not want my meal to end. Served with an amazing sauce and roasted almonds, they wouldn’t give me the recipe even though I said I would wash the dishes. Highly recommended, it’s worth every cent.
This is one of the loveliest spots in Dullstroom for a lazy weekend breakfast. We sat outside on the patio in the morning sun and it was wonderful. The service is a little slow but nothing to worry about if you’re not in a rush. The coffee is really good, as is the food. We opted for the 925 breakfast and everything was cooked to our liking. The homemade bread is really delicious! There is also a little farm stall attached to the restaurant where you can find fresh farm vegetables, baked goods and pies. Will definitely be back next time I’m in town.
