Kombu is a must visit if you are a sushi lover! Always freshly prepared fish, which is absolutely delicious, and a new and interesting take on certain dishes. The tuna crunch and snow dragon rolls are to die for. Apart from sushi they also have an extensive cocktail menu. Tip: if you like a bit of theatrics, order the Blazertrail can’t cocktail, you won’t be disappointed!
It was a quiet evening. Service was prompt and starters was amazing! Calamari with citrus rum was for sure worth every bit. Mains of pork belly, braided shirt rib and deconstructed beef Wellington was great tasting and for sure the normal taste for average restaurants. The food is why you come here. A few tips, please switch on the beautiful lights for a better ambiance, music choice does not fit the establishment. Bathrooms needs a few small repairs, but hey I am nitpicking now. A great place for good tasting food.

Wanted to order take away but could not find a menu anywhere online so was forced to order at Kombu, does take sometime! Nevertheless, I will be back for some more. Cheers
Sushi was extremely tasty and fresh. Waiting staff is friendly and informative. The menu has traditional sushi picks, along with a few novelty items like biltong sushi, and carbanossi sushi, both worth trying! You wait a bit longer than you would at other sushi restaurants, but quality is often worth waiting for. We’ll definitely​ be coming back before we leave Nelspruit.
I love Kombu’s sushi. The last two times I have ordered the sushi from the steakhouse next door, because I wanted to eat sushi and my family wanted to eat meat. I was served and by the end I have paid my bill. However,  last time (25.03.17), the attendant was extremely rude. She brought the sushi and asked for payment immediately. I have told her that I was eating and that I would pay both bills at the end. She replied that she had to pay an account  from someone who left the Turn’n Tender without paying the Kombu’s bill. I have payed my bill immediately. She took the money, never come back with the change. Even the sweets she took with her. It was very very unpleasant and unconfortable  and probably I will never order anything again from Kombu!
