Friends invited us for lunch at Laurentinas. It is recommended to book over weekends (luckily we booked a table). On first glance of the menu, I noticed they’ve got quite a variety on the menu. I opted for the fried calamari starter. Good flavour, but it was fairly cold when it reached the table. I think it might have been waiting to be brought to the table. I was quite hungry at the time, so I didn’t send it back. Then ordered the Maputo burger. The chips was good, but can’t say the same of the burger. Patty was quite dry and the fried egg was literally burned (had some of it). The creme caramel which I ordered for dessert, was good. The love music was quite good too!

We visited Laurentina yesterday, despite the mediocre reviews, and were pleasantly surprised. We ordered a couple of starters including the Trinchado(bad), the prawns(average) and the squid heads(decent). The cocktails were also good. While we decided not to stay for mains(due to the heat and flies – it is outdoors), we did enjoy the live music and atmosphere.

A firm favourite. We’ve been to all branches of this restaurant and the food never disappoints. The cocktail jugs are super reasonable and the food is consistently good. The mussel pot and chicken prego are definitely at the top of my list for food choices and the vibe on the weekend guarantees a good time.

We ate here on 18 November 2018. Tasty food but the service is terrible. They brought our mains while we still eating starters, the waitress kept saying they didn’t have items (dishes and wines) and then coming back after we’d order substitutes (and received them) to say they actually did have the original item. They also forgot one of our mains. The kitchen is great but the service lets them down.
