The venue is beautiful, that is the view. The food is very disappointing. I was a invited guest on New Years evening and the food was spectacular. However I went back two times and the food was of low standard when it came to the beef that is. The minestrone soup was horrible made with Maggie MSG and the pasta was ok but needed the real Italian touch. On the Indian night the food tasted just like a few days before. It seems the kitchen makes a giant pots of food in very large quantity and then charges a more than they should. It seems more of a business with the American accent waitress loading items and services charges hidden in the bill. Such a pity as it’s a marvelous setting and who ever made the food on New year evening was LONG gone a week or two later.

We enjoyed a very pleasant meal here one evening when staying in the hotel. It is a bit lacking in atmosphere and could do with an injection of energy. The menu has a good variety and the food is tasty and reasonably priced. I had a selection of sushi as a starter. It was fresh and delicious. My main course was the espetada. It was tender and prepared exactly as ordered. It was served with chips and lovely veg. The dessert was a rather disappointing apple pie. The wine selection is excellent and staff are friendly. It’s a rather bland restaurant but I’m sure has a better vibe during the peak seasons.

We stay at this hotel now for 17 years and have seen the restaurant going through major changes. Unfortunately not always improvements I must add. Time and time again we have been disappointed here over the last few years with mediocre food. If fine dining would be introduced here the restaurant should do extremely well. Still a long way off
