While this place may not be the cheapest, the fish is out of this world! Coupled with the view, I challenge you to find a better fish restaurant in the country that can tick both boxes! We were welcomed by a suuuuper friendly waiter who did not disappoint.We tried the standard Hake n chips and the Beachcomber platter (which I feel is slightly overpriced) – R160+- , compared to R90 for Hake and Chips, with the only difference being the addition of calamari. But the fish was such a good quality – so soft and flavoursome – that the price is acceptable. Definitely recommend day or night, but especially around sunset time you will get some unreal views!
Monya Dick’s is located on a beautiful spot right on the beach. Vibe was great, food was average in my opinion does not match the price but I guess you paying for the location of the restaurant. Only problem I had there was when the waiter came to our table asking for our orders, we advised her we have not decide yet as we just sat down 5 minutes ago, one would expect she would just take the order of our drinks and give us a few more minutes to decide, instead she advised us that the kitchen is very busy and their is a wait of up to 45 minutes. With that said we were like alright and we all just ordered the basic safe choices of fish- calamari and chips. Ten minutes later after our order was placed our food arrived, which yes we were happy for but at the same time I thought to myself why did you lie about the wait time? Is there some sort of rush to get us out of the restaurant? Wasn’t really impressed as one does not want to be rushed especially on holiday! Other than that our experience was okay.
