had oysters(this was recommended after asking what are known for) with long island ice teas (i did not want the drinks i wanted champagne or oyster sherry or something other then the ice tea. i asked many times but its fine) and some jager bombs. It’s not a 5 star place. the service is fine just could not get the order going nicely. the waiters never paid attention to what we ordered. we asked for a better service but still did not have any attention paid to us. we just paid got up and left.
We had lunch at Captain’s Kitchen at Big Bay today. Beautiful view. Service terrible. We waited one hour for sushi. The delay was apparently caused by more customers ordering sushi. The burgers were good and the sushi eventually too.
Nothing too special or exciting. I had a cold and stale margarita pizza, it may have become cold from the cold wind and weather that was blowing through nonetheless wasn’t too appetizing. The service was okay I just feel that the waiters are slightly inexperienced and confused.Besides that, the view is great and it could become a great atmosphere in awesome weather.
Catch up time at Captains Kitchen with Capetowngirl had sex on the beach and a portion of sashimi. Sashimi was overpriced for portion but very fresh none the less. I enjoyed the cocktail too and the waiter was friendly and helpful in trying to help us decide which cocktail to try. Cocktails I will go back for as they have quite a lot of options.
This place has an amazing view and the staff know how to bring your drinks out at a relatively acceptable pace. The rest is shocking: our table was sticky and dirty and full of flies (we asked for a cloth to wipe it down at the bar, eventually), there was broken glass lying around, an overfull ashtray and the service was desperate. This place could bloom with good, strong management and well-trained staff. Until then, we’ll give it a pass!
