Lovely view, but for the price the food wasn’t worth it. The brie starter had ‘fizz pop tasting jam’ on it. The schnitzel was quite tasteless even with some mushroom sauce and cheddar cheese on it. We added our own lemon and sugar to the mojito. Like I said,Lovely view but maybe order pizza or seafood next time.
Went for dinner on a Sunday evening. We sat inside (albeit a bit smoky) as the outside seating was chilly. We had the bacon & feta pita bread to start and it was surprisingly good, followed by the fish and chips which was good, not out of this world, just good. The vibe was pretty nice as there was live music on the stage and the wine was decent. The service was average and the prices a bit more than average. The place looks a bit dingy but then again its situated at the harbour’s edge.
Was on our way to Ocean Basket and decided to check this place, as we parked right opposite. As we walk in, instead of getting food smells we got hit with cigarette smoke stink instead. Seating was ok next to boats parked on the side. Service was excellent, well we are not really bothersome people. Had hake and chips was nice and had prawns and veggies which was also nice. Nothing to write home about. Made our tummies full which was important.
I really like Bertie’s. It is what it is; a nice place to have some sundowners and a casual bite to eat. The service is friendly, albeit a bit lethargic. But that’s the point; you’re there to unwind, not to keep track of time. Just enjoy it!
