Second time visiting this establishment. For Boxing Day, the service was extremely slow with only 2 staff. The wine tasting was decent but the waiting between tasters was a bit ridiculous. Overall, average experience with some good wine and somewhat a decent view.
We sampled the biltong, nougat and Turkish delight pairings. The staff are friendly and not intrusive.The biltong was quite substantial and the nougat was by far our favourite, as it was fresh and creamy. The Turkish delight was a bit rubbery, but still well-paired.I would recommend the first two pairings.
2.5 really. After lunch on the estate we popped in here for the tastings. The wine and beer both really very good. Lovely venue.The reason why it’s such a low scoring is the service was not good. We had to wait quite long for any service, the explanation of the beer and wine was rushed, he didn’t even look at us while speaking but scanned the area I’m assuming to see if other patrons needed anything. Settling the bill was also a lengthy procedure. I understand that they were busy, a simple solution is to hire more staff for peak time days and times.We bought a box of the the ystervark beer. Very yummy
The service is really slow and waiters are super unfriendly. Although I really do like the venue, food and ambience, bad service can unfortunately ruin ones mood and experience
The only reason I gave 2 stars, is because of the beautiful scenery and delicious pizzas. But the service is terrible. We waited for our pizzas for 2 hours, and didn’t even get the correct order. We waited at least 30 minutes for each bottle of wine or beer, and we were a party of 20. This is due to incompetent staff, shortage of staff, and lack of management.
