Not bad! Great spot with an amazing view. The food was good – and the service was quite good as well. Lacked a bit of atmosphere for me personally, in the form of some music or energy from the staff. Great venue though, with a nice little stage. Would like to see what its like on a day of live music etc. Will definately go again.
Really enjoyed my lunch at Hillcrest. The menu was great with lots of options to choose from (everything sounded so good). My friends and I finally decided on a chicken parmagiano, vegetable wok and homemade chicken pie all washed down with their Turkish Delight gin on tap. I will definitely be back to try more items off the menu! The only downside was that the service was quiet slow however the food was well worth the wait.
Very average food at quite a cost. Paying R140 for a standard pizza, which honestly tasted and looked like it was a frozen pizza with a few toppings, wasn’t that appealing. The service was good but won’t be back. Felt like a major rip off.
I would rate higher if I could, but sorely disappointed. I have been to Hillcrest many times for lunch and live events, but not breakfast. Had breakfast this morning with my mum at Hillcrest. We first sat inside, which was noisy. Two tables away from us, there was Management interviewing someone, extremely unprofessional. At the time when my mum and I were at the restaurant, we were the only table. We got told that there was no white bread for starters. I mean, you’re supposedly a high rated wine estate restaurant??My mum and I then moved from the noise and sat outside. We had to ask for a candle on the table, as there were so many flies buzzing around. We just feel that the view is worth everything, breakfast and the atmosphere could improve, especially the breakfast pricing!
