My girlfriend had a surprise birthday breakfast there, courtesy of her hubby. I’ve driven by Phizante Kraal many times but I’ve never gone in. If you come to eat, you must sit inside. The outside seating area is for wine tasting.The decor of the restaurant was rustic/elegance; absolutely charming. The service was prompt and or waitress was very friendly. I had a cappuccino and it was hot! Everyone chose the full breakfast. It was presented well and the portions were large. I chose the Shaksuka. The eggs were perfectly poached and the yolk calmed the heat in the relish underneath. I really enjoyed my breakfast and want my husband to come with me next time.I recommend this place, especially if you want a lovely place in a country setting with lovely food.
Really nice wine farm. As you drive in the long driveway the farmlands and vineyards surround you.The wines are nice, some crisp, some dry, some wooded etc. Quite a variety to choose from.
Phizante Kraal is a hidden gem in Durbanville, and if you like your wines, they should definitely be on your list of places to visit.With stunning vistas of the surrounding farms and the Stellenbosch mountains, you can sip your wines and take in the beauty of the countryside, all in a few kilometres outside of Durbanville!I haven’t been there in a while, but the previous two times I enjoyed immensely, and will be back again soon to taste the new releases.
