I am a huge fan of takeaways like this; owner run, one off, a unique menu and old-school in look and feel. Sadly whilst those boxes are ticked they don’t filter through to the food and service. I’d asked for extra peri-peri spice (which didn’t happen) and when asking for some vinegar and sauce (as it was a takeaway) they didn’t have. I could have used the bottles of condiments but it’d already been boxes and placed in the packet. The fish (without any spice, vinegar, etc.) Was bland, flavourless and just oily. Such high hopes met with such dissatisfaction.
An ok place for fish ‘n tjips. Over the past few months, I’ve noticed portions getting smaller but freshness and flavour are high. Staff are really friendly and serve wth a smile. That’s refreshing and goes a long way.
