Cavalli is a must, beautiful farm with a very different art gallery attached to the tasting room. The hostess was kind enough to make a plan for us to be seated for their lunch service. The down fall for me was that our waitress left us waiting for about 30 min before we got as much as a glass of sparkling water. We decided to order mains and dessert, my fish was perfection wow and my husband ordered the springbok. Unfortunately the springbok was tough and over cooked. Desert was beautiful, the berry salad was light and fresh and the chocolate bar was amazingly delicious.
The tasting room is located downstairs- was a bit disappointed that we could not enjoy our wines with the gorgeous view in the restaurant, however once we were down it was the perfect setting – Sophisticated with atmospheric lighting and equestrian art adorning the walls. There’s an art gallery on location as well. Their Cremello white blend (Chenin blanc, Chardonnay and Verdelho) is divine – bought a bottle to take home!

The setting is picturesque, with beautifully manicured lawns and sleek, modern stables.The wine menu has something to suit everyone’s palate, from full bodied and well rounded, to something softer with light tannins.The food was tasty and exceptionally presented, but it lacked the pizzaz you expect when dining at such an establishment. The outdoor deck area is perfect for watching the sun set over a beautiful lake and sprawling mountains. The service was ok, but again, not up to the standard of what you would anticipate walking through the doors of the restaurant.
Love the elegant decor and relaxed atmosphere despite the fact you are surrounded by opulence on Cavalli estate Nikki and James are both incredibly knowledgeable and welcoming.And their cremello wine is one of my most favourites wines in the world! Make sure you check out the whiskey collection and the art gallery whilst you’re there!
