Decided to give them a try, worst mistake of my life. Cashier isn’t clued up, no coleslaw, food was horrible. Managers extremely moody. Plate looks like it’s from the apartheid Era or it was possibly a staff members plate that was given to Me. Never again. Not impressed.

It’s always a concern when all the tables at a reasturant or takeaways have bottles of Tabasco sauce as a centrepiece. It suggests that the food is bland and needs to be supplemented with these sauces to enhance the flavour. After having a prego burger with chips this suggestion is a fact in my opinion. An average Portuguese roll, a baby chicken fillet that is hidden by the roll like a pearl inside a clam and drowned in the Adega prego sauce. The chips were a bit soggy, like what you get with a quarter tikka chicken from the local Pakistani around the corner from your house – if you come from the Cape Flats that is. Back to the prego sauce, which somes up the Adego signature flavour – this tastes a lot like the mussel batter at Ocean Basket. Very buttery, almost oily. Its okay I guess. Bland.Adega’s prices are okay (slightly less than Nandos and Ocean Basket). On the whole Adega is okay. So if you in Cavendish and you want an okay meal then Adega is your best bet.

Our family went for a quick meal in the food court. I did not order a lot food but based on what I had I had to give the best review. I ordered a chicken pasta and fried calamari heads. The pasta was creamy and tasty yet well seasoned. Calamari heads were crunchy and fresh. The staffs are quite friendly as well. I would go back if I were in that area again.

Decided to give this place a try and break my after movie routine of getting a burger and chips. I used to love the Adega restaurant in sea point and was really excited to see that there was another one in Cape Town even if it was an express version. I ordered the 1/4 chicken with a Portuguese roll and chips. The meal was okay with the chicken having amazing flavour however, otherwise I was rather disappointed. The roll was quite hard, the chips were soggy and the portion of chicken was on the small side. I really hope this improves as the food is so tasty. I would be willing to give it another chance if the outlet fixed these issues.
