My appreciation of this restaurant took a major dive the other night when I was told that, according to its liquor licence, if you brought your own bottle of wine, despite paying corkage, you could not take away the remaining wine at the end of your visit! I have NEVER heard of such a ruling anywhere else before and, after the manager on duty duly confirmed it, I left at once and decided NEVER to return! It seems a cheap trick to me to try to force the client to buy the bottles of wine on the restaurant’s list. BANG goes my custom and that of my friends and acquaintances.
This has become one of my favourite. They’ve had a name change – Toscana- but the food and ambiance istill the same. They are very flexible, if not on menu but have ingredients will make it up. Best thin based pizza eva. Pasta al’dente, perfect.
Looking for a nice quiet restaurant for dinner, a friend suggested Morituri. I don’t know the area very well so parking ended up being a little tricky but as soon as we walked in, I knew we made the right choice. It really was the perfect restaurant for a nice quiet evening (unlike somewhere else I’d been recently where we gave up talking because we had to shout to hear each other over the music). When we arrived it was still quite empty but that didn’t last long and before we knew it, it was full. We both ordered pizzas and they were definitely outstanding. Our waitress was also extremely lovely. I couldn’t find any fault if I tried!
Lovely meal tonight at this restaurant (the name has changed to Toscana Pizzeria). The service was quick and friendly, and our pizzas were delicious with thin, crispy bases and generous toppings. Although a bit expensive, we did really enjoy our meals. I can also highly recommend the creme brûlée, which was a delicious, a perfect end to the evening.
Food was excellent; best pizzeria in Cape Town. Service is super quick and absolutely friendly. Coffee cup though, smelt of dirty washing water.
