Quaint is the best way to describe Cafe PescadoFilled with bric-a-brac it screams sleepy little sea side villageOne of the few establishments open on a Sunday before Heritage DayStaff were friendly and helpful although the wait was considerable Food was average at best

Been to Pescado twice. This time for my birthday. The pizza is amazing. The base is crisp and ingredients are fresh. I always sit in the outside section, there is a garden with gnomes, a mermaid, frogs and toadstools. Perfect first date restaurant.

Just an amazing vibe and resturant. Will definitely be coming here next date night. 🙂

We are fellow Indian and Coloured South Africans from Johannesburg, it was our first time visiting Cape Town, so we were very excited to pass through Simons Town, on our way back we stopped at the cafe for coffee and dessert and from the moment we approached it, a white patron standing at the counter stared us down as if we didn’t belong there. We continued because we thought not everybody is racist, but to our disappointment a few tables with white patrons were looking petrified that we were there. Even the watrons were nervous around us and wanted us to sit at the bar area which was less appealing than the dining area but I insisted on the dining area. The white family next to us kept staring at us angrily (literally), but being proud South Africans we held our ground and finished our desserts but it was a huge disappointment to have such a negative experience. As South Africans of a New South Africa, we accept our history, both good and bad, and want to experience the beauty of these old towns as free individuals together with our fellow South Africans, white, black, coloured, indian, but stepping into this place was like stepping back in time to apartheid, and the owners need to do something to better the ambience, I saw one other non white person with their white partner, which shows people moving forward, but these little old towns need to move forward to. With regard to the desserts, they were awesome. The cafe is old in style and retains that classic feel. I would return if the ambience can change.
