Love the idea behind this place but wow they entire experience felt like it was on go slow, so much so we couldn’t even order food. We left after eating 35 minutes for a water and a milkshake.

Camel Rock is a landmark in Scarborough, it has been there for years. We stopped for lunch and although the place is a bit shabby and run down it was nice on the shady stoep. We ordered mussels and fish and chips. Sadly the meal was very disappointing. The mussels were swamped in that pre-crushed chunky garlic, the sauce was tasty but the mussels had been frozen and the chunk of bread was not nice at all. The portion of fish was tiny, it felt like they should have put another piece of hake on but forgot! The chips were soggy and under cooked and the side salad was so small and unappealing we didn’t bother tipping it out of the tiny bowl. For R95 for fish and chips you should have a smile on your dial. Not a nice meal but fun company made it an enjoyable lunch. Sadly I would suggest you try The Hub or Earth Cafe (not sure of the name) to avoid disappointment.
We stayed in Scarborough for a few days for a little getaway! We came here for some dinner and drinks! It was a really cute and cosy little place! It’s a real locals bar, where dogs are welcome too! We shared some mussels and then ordered some seafood platters! They were delicious, although a bit too much of it was deep fried, I would have liked it grilled rather! All in all the service was good and it was a great place!
