Beautifully located restaurant with a beautiful rustic feel.We sat on the front porch which is under vine and overlooked the pond & fields. There are magnificent pomegranate trees laden with fruit all adding to the farmhouse/traditional feel. The breakfast I had was also very good & an interesting addition to my breakfast menu.Overall a very satisfying outing
What a little treasure I was lucky enough to stumble upon yesterday! This rustic restaurant is tucked away in a quaint little garden. There is not much of a view, but the food makes up for that. Our lovely waitress suggested the pork belly and the phyllo pies. I ordered the roast chicken and tarragon pie, hubby got the pork belly. Both dishes were as pleasing on the palette as on the eye! The phyllo was absolutely sublime! The pork was perfectly cooked and the crunch of the crackling could be heard a few tables down. The wines are well priced and service very good. I highly recommend a visit for lunch!
We had lunch here on a very busy day of the year. Despite the hostess warning us that they were very full and we could expect a delay with our food the service was exceptional and we hardly waited for our meals. Our waitress was very attentive and the service was slick. The food was delicious and ended our meals off with some very yummy puddings. Definitely one of the best restaurants we have been to lately!
It’s often difficult to find somewhere decent off the beaten track and the Scarborough area is a little challenging in this regard. Cape Farmhouse was on the better side of average and if I was rating on my Calamari alone this would be a 4! Service is acceptable, pricing reasonable and some dishes look really good. The pie my partner had was dry and below par. Worth a visit, but careful menu choices are critical.
We thought for Heritage day we would go for a Cape Farmhouse Lunch rather than braai! We booked but it was not necessary as the place is huge with many inside, outside and under canvass tables. It is comfortable and rustic. The service was good and the food average. Michele had fish cakes(again!) and they were tasty but a bit small served with salad(or veg) and large potato wedges, she was satisfied. Andrew and I had the chicken curry which was well presented but very bland and uninteresting! Alison had the Falafel and said she was very happy. Lots of salad, feta cheese and olives. I had the cheese cake (again) and it was great, Andrew had a wonderful bowl of fresh homemade fruit salad and ice cream. All in all a good Sunday afternoon.
