I literally still dream about the beef tataki. We came here ages ago during the afternoon for a little lunch date and oh my goodness was it good.We wanted to use the entertainer but it got a little complicated and they had a special on already so we just did a tapas vibe on their special. Honestly, the beef tataki was one of my most favourite dishes ever. The service wasn’t great – our waitress disappeared to have lunch halfway through our meal and we couldn’t find her anywhere – but it got the job done.
Excellent service. Ordered the sirloin cafe de Paris. It was average. Asked for medium rare but got medium. The service was so great that it shadowed the average steak. They were great to our children and their food was great. Lovely mcc too!
Really good pub-style tapas in the relaxing garden setting at Peddlars. Tasty potato skins in a homemade flour cheese sauce went perfectly with the fried chilli cheese poppers and beef tataki. Prawns however were a little small and drowned in in sauce. Recommended but stick to the pub style classics.
So Peddlars has all theses subdivisions trying, I think, to be all things to all people! Does it work? Still not sure. Tonight we had dinner in the relaxed Graciales area. It was wuite loud and viby with most people chatting loudly, some watching TV and some playing cards! At our table of 11 some had the Sirloin, which was they devoured saying it was tender and tasty. I was disappointed by the lack of color in the plate of meat and chips! How about a little salad on the plate to add character? Some had lamb shank which looked amazing and apparently tasted better. Served with mash and some veg on the side which looked impressive. One had fish and chips, apparently ok, one had the ribs which looked like a huge portion overflowing the plate! Again this was tasty and tender and not much remained which is always a good sign. I had the Burger with a tasty patty but parts were a big raw which I tolerated but may have put some people off? The chips were pre-salted, not good for someone with high blood pressure! Deserts were cheese cake again with salt on top(?) and chocolate fondant. Both were average, or a bit above. A pleasant evening but there are better places around.
