Decided to celebrate with my family for my graduation at Schoongezicht. Even though there was a variety of food and desserts, it was very disappointing. The food was cold and bland. The dessert was okay but nothing special. The amount per person paid was not worth it besides the various buffet dishes. On a positive note, when you walk down the stairs theres a small garden to take pictures.
So the food was def not out of this world service is below average everything tasted the same. Manager is present on the floor and in the Kitchen. Presentation is also nothing wow. But if you like a budget meal it’s the place to go.
I went there on June 1st met for my cousins birthday, although walking in the staff was really inviting, walking down to the food area wasn’t pleasing. I starved all day but nothing I tasted made me want more.. disappointed by how the food wasn’t at all freshly cooked, looked as if it been there for days. Not sure if it’s because I went on the Thursday but that should not be a standard you set, it cost R175 per person. I’d rather go to Spur then back here, I hate Spur.
The food was excellent and the service was good. It was very clear that there weren’t a variety in people and cultures in the place; I’m not sure why. They don’t have a smoking area, and showed us to stand outside to smoke.
What an experience. I took a little bit of all my favourites, but believe me, you can’t taste everything. There’s too much to choose from. Pity we had to sit upstairs, but hey, a little bit of exercise doesn’t hurt. The chicken pie was my absolute favorite and I heard most people talking about the malva pudding. I’ll try that next time.
