I love going to buitenverwachting mainly because you pick which wines to taste out of their selection. But also because the servers are super friendly, informative and just all around lovely! The views are amazing and they have plenty of outdoor seating areas. If there isn’t seating, buitenverwagting recommends you buy a bottle and have a picnic as they don’t allow you to have tasting on the grass. The servers are very knowledgeable about their wines and they are more than willing to give you a detailed explanation on each one. Just ask! I have had the cheese platter before and it is very delicious and filling. It comes with a French loaf and various cheeses and spreads. This platter is more than enough for three people.

Ambience: Buitenverwachting has recently had a make-over. The restaurant is beautifully furnished and the glass-enclosed terrace has a beautiful view of the vineyard.Service: The service was good. Tables are served by both a head waiter and second waiter. When I was at the restaurant it was extremely busy so service was a bit slower than my previous visits.Food: There are two menus – a bistro styled menu and a more fine-dining menu. You can mix and match starters, mains and desserts from both menus. You are treated to delicious bread and an amuse bouche before your starter or main arrives. I tried both the pork belly and sea bass mains. The sea bass was an absolute winner. The desserts are also phenomenal.
We went as part of restaurant week. Beautiful views, wine pairing was great, food delicious and service impeccable. Had a lovely time.
