Surely the name suggests that this is a coffee shop, or not? To start with, service was diabolical and when we were eventually served we were told that they had a lunch menu but nothing such as toasted sandwiches or pastries. Either change the name or the menu, in my opinion. We left and went elsewhere, never to return.

The Buitenverwagting farm is a gem but especially great because it is in walking distance from our home! In spite of this we don’t go often probably because there are so many other great venues in Cape Town. We decided for a light lunch and arrived without a booking. We were shown to a lovely table in the courtyard. We then waited quite a while for service but when our waitress came she was efficient and the rest of the service was good. I had the Vienna Schnitzel and was offered baby potato, chips or parsnip chips. I asked for the latter but actually got the baby potatoes but the tasted good do never complained or commented! The schnitzel was great. Michele had the smoked chicken breast which was was very tender, well seasoned and accompanied by a lovely salad. We shared a carrot cake which was light and fluffy, not too sweet with a lovely icing. The coffee and wine were of course both excellent. The place was busy as it is peak season with lots of overseas visitors. Love the venue and must go back again soon b

Definitely a restaurant you’ll want to visit! The service was impeccable and Wezzo our waiter was amazing! He helped us with our wine tasting and knew just what to recommend in terms of both lunch and wines. We took family from overseas and they couldn’t stop raving about it! Gorgeous settings make it even more worth it and we’ll be back soon for the picnics!

Yummy quaffee coffee in a beautiful and peaceful setting. Attended a coffee workshop and popped into cafe bloc for a cappuccino. Really lovely with a nice biscuit. Can’t wait to go back and try breakfast

Unbelievable setting in the most beautiful wine farm in Cape Town. Great breakfasts and light lunch or just a cappuccino. Friendly staff and a small gift shop.
