Perfect corner cakery in Tokai. The cupcakes – lemon and vanilla – were divine, filled with a surprise lol in the middle. The brownie was yummy and the croissant was freshly made. The latte came in a massive mug which was great! There Wifi and a small shop to purchase goodies.
Very nice small restaurant. Small menu but nice choice of items. The food was excellent. We had the bagels with very generous serving of smoked salmon. The service was fast and friendly. We will definitely return
I can say without a doubt, that Sweet Cillies has created the best red velvet cupcakes I have ever tasted. Loved them so much so that we organised 84 cupcakes for the staff at the company I work for (given to them on Valentine’s day). Everyone loved the cupcakes so much so that many of them have paid visits to the shop again purely for those red velvets.
Sweet Cillie’s is not necessarily in the best location – it doesn’t have a huge amount of parking (unless you park across the road in the mall’s parking), and you don’t necessarily know it’s there unless you know it’s there, as it’s not a part of Tokai that people walk past.Once inside, Sweet Cillie’s is very cute and inviting, with pretty decor, and lots of goodies on display. They do offer some lunch options (no menu – there are three or four items to choose from on a blackboard), as well as sweet treats – cheesecake, cupcakes, etc. There is also a big stand with deli items, such as coffee, jams and preserves, and sauces. I tried the cheesecake and a cappuccino, both of which were lovely; my hubby tried the chocolate caramel cupcake and was a little disappointed. All in all it’s a nice spot, but will probably never be a favourite.
I must say what ever I have purchased from here is good, I do understand that buying ingredients are expensive but the cupcakes and cake slices are a little pricey. I paid 125 rand for 5 cupcakes, had no choice, I needed desert for a dinner but not again. Sorry
