Stopped for coffee whilst the others shoppedOrdered coffee Americano and cappuccino We were tempted into sampling the carrot cake and lemon meringue Both were very good – moist not dry Very acceptable if not outstanding Service was friendly and polite
Was sad when Tribakery left Cavendish so was very excited when I found another branch in Blue Route! Popped in for breakfast this morning. The place was busy so we got a table outside. I had the most delicious hazelnut latte which was served in the biggest cup! My eggs Benedict with bacon was pretty average. The downsides were that the bacon was bland and there was a tad too much pepper on top of the hollandaise. The others at the table ordered were satisfied with their cappuccino and hot chocolates but were divided on the meals. The cheddar cheese, bacon and mushroom omelette was a hit because it was light, fluffy and generously filled. The sunrise breakfast was good too. However, the breakfast burger was average but the sides of delicious crispy fries and tangy coleslaw saved the dish. Great service from our waiter, Ivan! The kitchen moved slowly on a busy Saturday morning but he kept us informed as to how long our meal would take and was very polite which made the service pleasant.
I always love eating at Tribakery with my family. The service is great, the restaurant is lovely and the food is delicious. I’ve never had an eggs Benedict as good as theirs.
Possibly one of the worst experiences I have ever had. I’m not one to play the racism card (ever), but the white female manager made no effort to conceal her ill-treatment toward people of colour. When we approached the manager and requested to be seated inside, she, very rudely, told us that that would not be possible and that we would have to sit outside(even though there were seats available inside). Shocked, that in 2017 we would still have to deal with hateful people such as this woman, we decided to leave. I, however, decided to stick around and recalled that the last time we visited this establishment the same white manager only checked up on white customers, and this time I observed that nothing had changed. I was completely and utterly sickened by this. All we wanted was coffee, but instead we were met with the sad reminder that not much has changed in South Africa.
