As one of my family’s favourite take out options is fish and chips and we were close to this restaurant we thought we would give it a try. We called and placed a phone order (order was received very friendly) and we collected the food we had ordered. When we open the boxes at home we were met with chips that were either refried or was fried in old oil and fish that had clearly been refried as the fish was over cooked and the batter was oily and rock hard at places. We called to complain and we were advised to bring the food back and have it replaced only to be told when we got there that they would not be willing to replace the food but would rather refund us our money. I was hoping they would stand behind their food which clearly they don’t

Good take out spot at R45 for hake and chips or a couple’s special for only R75 – which includes calamari. Portions are big and owner very friendly. Only downside is that they close early.
In the category of independent fast food places this one stands out. It’s clean and modern inside rather than dilapidated and dirty like most of its peers. The staff were friendly, the food was actually fast and the fish and chips I had was spot on. Great slappies with lots of salt and vinegar!
