Their Calamari is one dish you should not miss. I was just blown away with the perfection of how it was made. A great place with amazing view and one dish to make you feel complete with the drive you take to reach there.Simply amazing .
Best place to have calamari in Cape Town. It’s tender and delicious. However, I’ve tried other items on the menu and it was disappointing. I ordered the chicken trinchado and it was definitely not a trinchado but rather a a cheap BBQ sauce. The menu is quite limited and it’s a pricey restaurant.
It’s a tragedy that the calamari way of cooking in the pan has been cast to one side. It’s all deep fried now and the same as any joint around the country. I have tried several times to have them cook it the old way. The pictures shown that people have posted are not what’s produced now. All management spoken to have selective mememory as to the way it was not more than a year ago. It’s a tragedy. I am going to invest time in speaking to the family re this. It’s been 20 years of bliss and now chipshop calamari. Tragic. Now I have no where to send my overseas and Johannesburg friends and family. Rest of food wonderful. Venue great. Wine over priced. Especially at winter for LOCALS.
We were told that they had some of the best calamari in Cape Town, so on a recent trip we had to try it.The calamari is incredibly good and the portion sizes are quite substantial. The calamari and steak combo is divine, as the meat is very succulent and tender. My dining partner even remarked that he might have only the steak on a next visit!Add this to your list of out-of-the-way eateries on a roadtrip across Chapman’s Peak.
