Prawn curry was good, prawn masala curry was too spicy. Mango Lassi was a bit too sweet, milkshakes was on point. Garlic Naan bread and chicken was good too. Ambience was nice and relaxed, restaurant was not busy.
I don’t normally do franchise restaurants as their food is average . However I was pleasantly surprised by how bad this Taj is. The ones I have had in Johannesburg were far better and leave me.with fond memories unlike this one which I can comfortably sat is the.worst Indian food I have had. And since when did.Indian become so expensive?
Even though I am not big on Indian food, it actually wasn’t too bad here. The starters, veg spring roll and mutton mince samosas, were tasty and freshly fried and brought to our table. We opted to order the mild version of most of the dishes, and they were indeed mild yet good. The naan was nice and thin (and not too chewy). I felt that the service was average (we waited almost 20 mins for one cup of tea, with the manager apologising twice in Hindi, saying that they’re busy making some other thing too which is causing the delay in the kitchen). Personally, for the price it isn’t too bad but I don’t see myself returning.
Over all bad experience. The food(rogan josh, chicken briyani, aloo zeera, chicken nuggets and chips, chicken tikka masala) was not Indian at all, no flavor or spice serious lack of taste. Service was poor and extremely slow. We ordered a cuppacino which was milk and water only to discover that the coffee machine was broken. Very disappointing experience.
I’m not the biggest fan of this restaurant but I have been a few times over the years, the food although decent isn’t to my liking per se but it can be enjoyable. I don’t think there are many Indian places in the area though, so it’s a nice change from the fish and chips.
