Awesome joint in Hout Bay, if you want some fresh local fish from a store. The staff and people are very friendly. The chips are cut as wedges and are really good but the hake was not as good as I thought.
We got take away from the catch. Ordered mushy peas but as before they did not arrive. Instead of tar tar sauce received a pot of store made mayonnaise and instead of peri peri sauce a tub of store bought sweet chilly sauce was included. Old stale chips rounded off possibly the worst fish and chips I have ever had.
Stopped here for a quick bite today. Ordered calamari tentacles with chips. Reasonably priced and I like that you can choose tentacles or strips. Unfortunately they weren’t good at all. Extremely tough and chewy. I like the layout of this store. Very clean appearance, but I won’t be back for their food.
