Had the privilege to try this gem out with friends from the area. The food was visually very appealing and I really enjoyed the starter with avo, pear, blue cheese and pecan nuts. The sorbet was a bit disappointing, it lacked flavour. We had a great time, beautiful restaurant and great service.

This is a real gem! I am so glad we stumbled upon Morgenster. The views on the drive to the tasting room looked very promising but I was not prepared for the views we had from the table. I really felt like we were out in the countryside overlooking the water abundant with different types of bird life. The service however was what really made the day. We felt like we were being hosted by good friends and made to feel very welcome. I loved the wines as well as the homemade bread and olive oils. Definitely somewhere I would love to visit again very soon.

For some Olive Oil tasting might not sound that enjoyable but it definitely is a unique experience. The tasting comprises of 6 different varietals, one of the staff members takes you through each of them which really does help in appreciating all the different notes that come through in each varietal. We also had wine tasting which was also delightful and pleasant.

It is always those places you don’t end up planning to go that ends up being a true gem! What a treat it is to come to Morgenster! Not knowing what to expect the guy explained the different kinds of tastings on offer. We opted for the olive oil and wine pairing. You get to taste 5 different sorts of olive oils – virgin, extra virgin, lemon infused, white truffle extra virgin olive oils as well as a balsamic vinegar. This is accompanied with a bread basket, crackers, delicious olives and black and green olive tapenade. All came in cute little glasses that you warm up with your hands and then sip. It is fascinating to discover the different smells and textures of the different olive oils. The exciting part is mixing the oils with the balsamic vinegar creating a playful taste combination & palate sensation. We ended off our tasting experience with selection of their delicious Bordeaux style blends. Worth the visit and definitely a place that needs to be added to everyone’s bucket list.
