We had a spa booking so decided to go early and have some lunch first. When we arrived, we were the only people there and the vibe looked a little sad. We wondered how they survive as there was not a soul in sight on a Friday during lunch. Well it seems the folks out in Somerset West just start lunch a little later as within half an hour the outside area was full. Our waitress was beyond lovely. If it wasn’t considered kidnapping, I would have taken her home with me just because she was so wonderful to be around. She made some great suggestions and was a great host. We ordered the fillet steak sandwiches, which were a little pricey at R135 but well worth it. The perfectly cooked fillet steak was very generous and it came with a hefty portion of chips, the most delicious onion rings I’ve ever had as well as a fresh salad. The chips weren’t so amazing and that’s the only reason my rating is not a 5.We were extremely full after our huge meal and even asked for the bill when the table next to us got their dessert. Everything look and smelt too amazing to pass up on so we ordered lindt brownies, which were really tasty but the ice cream served with it was just completely out of this world. To die for. We are already planning our next visit!

✔️ Beautiful outside area to sit on a still day under the oak trees✖️ Very average service – staff had to be called to order food✖️ Waited for at least 40 minutes to be served food after ordering it✔️ The lamb curry was very tasty✖️ The pork belly was far too heavy with hardly any meat on it at all – 90% of the meal wasn’t eaten due to unrenderred fat ✖️ The rump was tasty but very tough✖️ An average meal that was ruined by unattentive staff and long delays waiting for food – will only be back for a drink on a nice day when I am not in a rush

There’s nothing like a generous buffet to celebrate a special occasion with family in a beautiful setting on an incredible estate in the country. How lucky are we in the Western Cape?Erinvale is just stunning with expertly manicures gardens, white washed walls & welcoming staff. There is an a la carte menu as well as the buffet which at R205pp is very generous and each dish is prepared with equal amounts of love & care. This time we enjoyed starters of salads, pate, cheese, fish and quiche. Mains were roast pork & crackling, grandmas chicken pie, grilled fish, ratatouille, roast beef with all the trimmings, veggies & crispy roast potatoes. The dessert spread is equally impressive; pavlova, chocolate brownies, malva pudding, peppermint caramel tart, carrot cake and ice cream.Outstanding every time!
